Whats Happen At Country Taste Farm

The Country Taste Farm CSA Memberships are Still Available Sign up Early Don't Miss Out on all the Wonderful Fruit and Vegetables this season.

This Week we are preparing Equipment to start large quantities of seeds. We will be planting group of seeds for Transplants every week for the next 8 weeks. We have fabricated a vacuum seeder to plant 288 seeds at one time in plug trays in stead of one seed at time . How A Vacuum Seeder Works; the seeders has hole drilled in a plastic sheet vacuum chamber that line up with the plug tray, you pour the seeds on and they stick to the holes, then you turn the seeder over the excess seeds are trapped in the brown colored trap, then you Aline the holes to the plug tray shut off the vacuum the seeds drop into the tray.  This will speed up the process as we will be planting 1000 to 5000 seeds per week.
The early warm weather feels nice but it is not all that great for the Fruits. If the apple trees blossom too early and we get a frost it could reduce yield.

Today Professor Thaddeus McCamant  from Central Lakes College will be here to work Thur Booking as part of the Specialty Crops Management Course we must keep records. Oh so much Fun!
