Each year at the beginning of the
season we provide training to our employees as required by law.

Pesticides:
1. Country Taste Farm Uses Only Products Labeled
for Organic Productions. However there are Worker Safety rule that must be
followed.
2. Pesticides
may be on or in plants, soil, irrigation water, and may drift from nearby
applications.
3. No
workers are to apply Pesticides. (Only the owner will apply)
4. Owner
will post signs were pesticides have been applied.
5. Employees
are to follow the directions on signs and any specific instructions about
keeping out of treated Areas.
6. Workers
must Wash with soap & Water before eating, drinking or using the toilet.
7. Wear
appropriate work clothing.
8. Wash/Shower
with soap and water and put on clean clothes after work.
9. Wash
Work Clothes separately from other clothes before wearing them again.
10. Wash
immediately in the nearest clean water if pesticides are spilled or sprayed on
your body. Example: wash hands to remove bud repellent before picking produce.
11. Preventive
Measures for dealing with heat: drink lots of water, wear light colored
clothing, wear sunscreen, and wear a wide brim hat.
12. In high tunnels follow rule included in Item
#12, plus when temps are above 90 degrees leave the tunnel ever 30 minutes for
5 minutes to cool off.

Individual Health
& hygiene
1.
Individuals
will wash hands when reporting for work and after eating, drinking, smoking,
and using the toilet. 1. Rub hands
together with soap under running water for 15 seconds (sing ‘Happy Birthday’
twice).
2.
Individuals
who have acute gastrointestinal illness—such as diarrhea, fever, or vomiting—or
a sore throat with fever and or with persistent coughs or sneezing, a runny
nose, or discharge from the eyes, nose, or mouth should not come to work for 24 Hours
3.
If an employee has an open cut or sore on the
hand, an impermeable bandage and a clean, single-use glove over the bandage
should be worn when handling food.
4.
Keeping employees hydrated in hot summer
weather is important, but only covered beverage containers should be used in
the food packing area.
